Let’s grow your
practice together
A permanent home for your
direct care practice
We bring know-how and capital to help you grow
Your practice remains your practice
Timshel Health is a mission-driven organization that invests in and partners with direct care practices.
Timshel Health is not a private equity firm. Our capital comes from healthcare entrepreneurs and family offices who are mission-aligned and long-term oriented. Unlike other growth partners, I have no intention to sell your company. I and my investors are in it for the long term, and we won’t push you to make shortsighted decisions.
About Timshel Health
-
Timshel buys a majority share in practices. We want our partners to maintain ownership of their practices, an entrepreneurial mindset, and autonomy over their practice’s culture and clinical operations.
-
Americans deserve truly affordably, high quality healthcare. Patients should be able to see their doctor without a middleman getting in the way. At Timshel, clinicians are empowered and patients come first.
-
Leaders of established practices who want to grow their practice and expand affordable, quality healthcare at large. They are great entrepreneurs who may not need us to run their practice today but want a growth partner to make their practice - and the movement as a whole - bigger and better.
-
We design every partnership and deal structure to fit the organizational goals and financial priorities of our partners. We encourage physicians to maintain meaningful equity in their practices, and we can accommodate more flexible deal structures than any other growth partner.
-
Unlike a private equity firm, our investors do not expect a sale or return in the near-term. This enables us to make intelligent, long-term decisions and ensures you won't be quickly passed on to a new owner.
Value Proposition
-
We will invest capital behind your practice, including hire top-tier physicians and investing in your sales and marketing efforts. We will invest ahead of growth and help you expand much faster than otherwise possible.
-
In addition to running and growing their own practices, our partners play a key part in the strategy and growth of the broader company.
-
This is not a passive investment. I am a driven entrepreneur with valuable experience that will work hard as a partner to you and your business
-
Timshel is a holding company that emphasizes autonomy to encourage founders to remain entrepreneurial and to respect their practices’ cultures and clinical care. We will lean-in heavily to help you grow, but we won’t tell you how to run your practice

Timshel will support you with technology, business operations, strategy, employer sales, marketing, and hiring:
I grew up wanting to be a doctor, but during college I fell in love with economics and business; I decided instead to focus my efforts on changing healthcare care delivery and business models. A surprise $3K MRI bill, learning that the out-of-pocket price for physical therapy was cheaper than my insurance copay, waiting four months for a primary care visit, and watching my brother get bounced around mental health providers deepened my conviction that we urgently need to change healthcare.
I joined CVS Health to work on accessible, affordable healthcare at scale. As the youngest director-level employee, I led projects to improve pharmacy operations, launch new services, and expand healthcare access in partnership with Lyft and the YMCA. Seeing impact across 10,000 stores was exciting, but I was limited in many ways and felt a desire to go smaller and more direct.
I worked on startup ideas during my two years at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, including an app that helped employees price shop for direct care services and share in the savings with their employer. Ultimately I decided I wanted to be closer to the care itself, and I launched Timshel Health.
I live in the Bay Area but will always be Midwestern at heart. I am a die-hard Chicago sports fan, avid golfer and camper, and love being outdoors with my wife Rachel and dog Fitz.

About the Name
Timshel is a theme of my favorite book, East of Eden. It represents individual agency - something that is missing from the healthcare system and that I want to help give back to physicians their patients.
In the book, it helps the characters realize their free will and reject evil through their decisions. Here, it means we believe patients deserve more control over their healthcare decisions and deserve more affordable and accessible options. It means we believe clinicians deserve to practice independently and how they see fit without administration burden.
